Dr. D. Y. Patil served as the Governor of Bihar and Tripura in eastern India. He is an educationist, philanthropist and a visionary. In recognition of his contribution to the field of education, President of India honored him with Padma Shri in 1991. He was also awarded doctorate degrees by World University Round Table, U.S.A. in 1985 and by United Kingdom in 1996.
Dr. D. Y. Patil firmly believes that socio-economic and ethical transformation of the country is only possible through appropriate & quality education from kindergarten to Post-graduation. With this mission he has established excellent academic complexes in Pune, Kolhapur and Mumbai. In these complexes, more than 50,000 students are pursuing their education in different faculties such as engineering, medicine, pharmacy, information technology, arts, science and commerce.
